TempExperts is seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC/R Technician for a leading manufacturing and industrial facility in Grapevine, TX. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems that support facility operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical background, enjoys solving complex equipment issues, and takes pride in maintaining critical building systems in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair rooftop units, air handling units (AHUs), split systems, chillers, compressors, pumps, fans, refrigeration systems, coolers, freezers, dryers, and related mechanical equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues affecting HVAC/R equipment.
Utilize building automation and control systems to monitor equipment performance and building conditions.
Troubleshoot electrical systems, including control circuits and equipment operating on up to 480V three-phase power.
Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
Support general facility maintenance activities as needed.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
Recommend improvements to equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
Assist and provide guidance to other maintenance technicians when appropriate.
Follow all OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, safety policies, and PPE requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial HVAC maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EPA Universal Certification required.
Strong troubleshooting skills involving HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Experience working with commercial HVAC equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience using CMMS software for preventive maintenance and work order management.
Strong understanding of HVAC controls and building automation systems.
Ability to safely troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V three-phase.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school diploma or Associate degree in HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
Experience troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Experience with cooling towers, pumps, and industrial air handling systems.
Knowledge of light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, garage doors, and dock equipment maintenance.
Experience with refrigeration systems used in commercial or industrial environments.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Must be able to pass background and pre-employment drug screening.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate schedules as business needs require.
