Overview: As an Intellectual Property Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience, you’ll specialize in legal matters related to intellectual property rights. Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients in obtaining patents for inventions, processes, and designs.
Conduct patent searches and analyze existing patents.
Draft and file patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Advise clients on trademark registration and protection.
Conduct trademark searches to assess availability.
File trademark applications with the USPTO.
Counsel clients on copyright protection for literary, artistic, and musical works.
Register copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Handle infringement cases and licensing agreements.
Advise clients on safeguarding trade secrets and confidential information.
Draft non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and confidentiality agreements.
Represent clients in IP-related disputes, including infringement lawsuits.
Negotiate settlements and handle litigation proceedings.
Collaborate with other attorneys, experts, and investigators
Draft and negotiate licensing agreements for IP assets.
Assist with technology transfers and joint ventures.
Provide due diligence in IP-related mergers and acquisitions.
Educate clients on IP rights and strategies, then make informed decisions regarding IP protection.
Offer risk assessments and legal opinions.
Stay up to date with changes in IP law, court decisions, and industry trends.
Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Florida Bar.
Specialization or experience in IP law.
Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage complex legal matters.
