Legal Assistant Full Time - Direct Hire Clearwater, FL
TempExperts is hiring on behalf of an Estate Planning and Probate law firm for a Legal Assistant. This is a full-time In-office positionin the Clearwaterarea.
Our client is looking for a professional, meticulous, and driven individual to join their team as a legal assistant.
Position Summary:
The Legal Assistant will support one attorney and work alongside a paralegal and the office manager. This individual will be responsible for providing excellent support to the other staff and friendly, professional service to clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with probate and trust estate files at the direction of attorney including obtaining supporting financial, legal, and other administrative documents.
Work under supervision of attorney and paralegal to prepare probate and court documents such as pleadings (including notice and service lists), orders, subpoenas, and fee petitions from draft or dictated text. (training on the document system will be covered by the firm)
Assist with preparing and proof-reading estate planning documents and related aspects of estate planning files.
Type, edit, file, and compose correspondence, including letters, memoranda, and other documents. Transcribe dictation and/or edit handwritten documents.
Scan documents after document signing meetings and archive documents in computer server.
Update and maintain client information in database.
Interact with clients, visitors, and attorneys/staff from other offices via phone, e-mail, and in person.
Open new files, check conflicts of interest, and maintain all client and general files.
Make appointments; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude; maintain good public relations and customer service with clients; maintain confidentiality of attorney-client relationship.
Other administrative duties as requested.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent mandatory. Associate or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
1-2 years of experience in a law firm.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software, ability to adapt to new software easily. Knowledge of or ability to learn law firm task and calendar system, Westlaw and Form builder, and other software as needed.
Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and diligence.
Identifies and resolves problems promptly; gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Listens and seeks clarification; responds well to questions.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
