A Fort Lauderdale Full-Service Law Firm is seeking a Hybrid Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This Litigation Legal Assistant would be supporting multiple insurance defense attorneys by providing administrative support and oversight. A successful match will be a dedicated and experienced legal professional with a strong background in litigation. This associate will need to demonstrate excellent organization, communication, and time management on a daily basis. Their duties will include but not be limited to:Â
Formatting briefs, pleadings and other legal documents.
Keeping track of attorney time records and billing.
Transcribing dictations.
Corresponding with clients.
Scheduling motions, mediations, depositions, and other appointments on attorneys’ calendars.
Entering and managing data; Including pleadings, motions as well as trial, arbitration, and mediation letters.
Processing calls in a timely manner; this will include initiating oral and written responses to routine inquiries.
Demonstrating professionalism and discretion when processing sensitive and personal information.
Monitoring and maintaining compliance with litigation management system.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
2-5 years’ experience in a law firm required.
Insurance defense experience is a plus, not a must.
Comfort and efficiency with supporting multiple attorneys.
