Eviction Associate Attorney

TempExperts is seeking an Eviction Associate Attorney – Remote (New York) to manage a high-volume eviction and landlord-tenant caseload within New York jurisdiction. This Direct Hire role supports residential eviction matters from filing through court resolution, including hearings, pleadings, and compliance with state and local court requirements. The position reports to a Managing Attorney and requires court-related appearances.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of eviction and landlord-tenant matters from initiation through resolution.
  • Represent clients in eviction proceedings, hearings, and court appearances, both in-person and virtual.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, notices, and correspondence in accordance with New York court rules.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws, court procedures, and client requirements throughout the lifecycle of each case.
  • Track court calendars, statutory deadlines, hearings, and filings to ensure timely case progression.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files within legal case management systems.
  • Collaborate with legal support staff to coordinate filings, service, and document preparation.
  • Communicate professionally with courts, internal teams, and clients regarding case status and outcomes.
  • Utilize e-filing systems and court portals for state and local filings.
  • Support workflow efficiency and quality control in a fast-paced eviction practice.
Requirements/Education:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of 3 years of eviction or landlord-tenant litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of New York eviction laws, procedures, and court rules.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads, hearings, filings, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management or document management systems.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment.
  • Experience with related practice areas such as collections or bankruptcy is a plus.
