Ocean Export Coordinator
Tampa, FL Temp-to-Hire TempExperts is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join a busy international logistics and freight forwarding team. This position offers the opportunity to manage the full cycle of ocean export operations—from bookings to documentation—while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have hands-on freight forwarding experience and a strong understanding of international shipping procedures. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, including collections, bookings, and deliveries.
Prepare and process export documentation, including MBL, HBL, export declarations, delivery orders, and customs documents.
Ensure compliance with all U.S. and international customs regulations, including permits and licenses for controlled goods.
Communicate daily with carriers, coloaders, truckers, and steamship lines to confirm bookings and shipment status.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Track and trace shipments, update system milestones, and ensure data accuracy.
Generate customer invoices and review vendor invoices for accuracy prior to processing.
Troubleshoot and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or damages.
Requirements/Education:
Prior experience in freight forwarding and logistics is required.
Strong understanding of international shipping, customs, and ocean freight documentation.Â
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); CargoWise experience strongly preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
