TempExperts is hiring a Payroll Specialist for a prominent construction company located in the Greater Tampa area.
Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and timely processing employee payroll for the organization. This includes checking and verifying time sheets, hours worked, benefits and deductions and ensures that all payroll related activities comply with organizations policies and relevant laws and regulations. This role is essential in maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring the financial integrity of the payroll system.
Responsibilities
Accurately entering and calculating payroll information.
Maintain and update payroll records including changes in personal information, pay rates, and deductions.
Management of garnishees.
Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, including tax withholdings and reporting requirements.
Resolve any payroll queries or discrepancies from employees, government regulations and finance.
Maintaining all payroll operations are according to company policies.
Confidentiality of payroll information.
Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines.
Requirements
Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Analytical skills to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Professional appearance and manner.
Great planning and organizational skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency of payroll related software and Microsoft office applications (Excel is a plus).
Work experience in a construction industry is a plus but not necessary.
Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Able to perform the physical duties of climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
