Position Summary:
The RF System Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of P-25 public safety radio systems for their assigned region.
Responsibilities:
Provide field support for public safety communication systems, including analog/digital radio networks, IP networks, microwave links, and wireless data.
Lead and mentor technicians, contributing to talent development.
Collaborate with management and customers to identify enhancement opportunities.
Develop needs assessments for State and local agencies and support sales presentations.
Generate and present project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines.
Participate in or lead discussions with customers, consultants, vendors, and other personnel.
Field support of existing large complex public safety communications systems within Florida and possible travel to other areas.
Lead and mentor a cadre of technicians, assisting in talent development.
Work with management and customers to identify, present, and implement enhancement opportunities.
Develop needs assessments for State and Local Government Agencies.
Generate and present project schedules and goals, ensuring adherence to timelines.
Participate in or lead discussions with customers, consultants, vendors, and other personnel.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
5+ years of experience in maintaining large public safety radio networks.
Extensive knowledge of L3Harris land mobile radio (LMR) systems, simulcast, P25 radio technology, and microwave systems.
