Senior Accountant
Full Time-Direct Hire
Riverview, FL

TempExperts is hiring for a Senior Accountant- this is a direct hire opportunity in Riverview, FL!

Summary of Primary Functions:
This position is responsible for posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned essential duty satisfactorily. (Below are examples, there are other duties as assigned).

Oversee daily transactions, including management of the general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Preparation/review of accounting schedules supporting the financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
Assists in the preparation, integrity, and interpretation of the financial statements
Maintain general ledger data for assigned areas of responsibility according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies
Acquire a deep understanding of the business processes related to assigned general ledger accounts, including transaction flow
Participate in preparation and review of audit materials and work papers as required for internal and external audits
Review monthly close entries prepared by staff accountants
Review balance sheet account reconciliations as well as prepare general ledge account analyses by reviewing transactions with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions
Prepare and maintain Sales and Use Tax filings for assigned states, including filing payments, analyzing data, reviewing and approving sales tax exemption certificates and updating customer tax status.
Willingness to travel as needed or directed.

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree within an Accounting Field
5+ years’ accounting experience.
5+ years' G/L, JEs, Excel.
CPA strongly preferred.
Organization and communication skills must be advanced.
Computer skills need to be broad based.
